London

I lived in London for nearly 10 years. I love it. Here are some travel recommendations!

Here are some recommendations - there is a lot to choose from depending on what you're in the mood for :)!

Places
  • Portobello Market
  • Big Ben
  • Fortnum & Masons - an ancient but very fancy Department store that feels very Victorian.
  • The Tower Bridge Christmas Market
  • London Sky Garden 57th Floor (Free but should book)
  • Regent Street & Oxford Street
  • Carnaby Street
  • Piccadilly Circus
  • Anything in a theatre.
  • If you can book now... Alegria is at the Royal Albert Hall - show in a vast, grand Victorian building.
  • Fish & Chips at Poppeys
  • Tea at Fortnam & Masons. Expensive but fun!
  • Italian Restaurants
  • Circolo Popolare, by the British Museum
  • Walk along the South Bank, towards the London Eye & then stop at Borough Market
  • St James' Park to walk around with Buckingham Palace nearby

Food
  • Covent Garden... lovely to wander around :)!
  • Sticks & Sushi

Notes in General...
  • Use the app CityMapper to calculate Journey times (it's better than google)
  • Uber is the Taxi app of choice, but walking, tube and busses are enough.
  • Use any credit or debit card to 'Tap' into the tube & busses on the yellow reader, no need to buy tickets or use an oyster card. It's around £3 a journey & maxes out at around £12 every 24 hours... so after that point, your travel is free/unlimited.
  • Stand on the Right of the Escalators on the Tube, and walk on the Left of them - especially in the mornings.
  • Let me know if you have any questions at all & have fun!!
